Total Maximum Daily Load - Central Valley Pesticides

Project Description Project Dates: 2006 - 2007

The Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board conducted monitoring of numerous pesticides in the Central Valley in 2006 and 2007. Monitoring occurred during storm events and during the summer irrigation season. The emphasis was on identifying pesticides in surface waters and characterizing concentrations and loads.

Monitoring Objectives

The objective of the Central Valley TMDL pesticide monitoring was to develop data necessary to identify surface waters that were impaired as a result of pesticide runoff. The project generated data to support the development of TMDLs in surface waters across the Central Valley.
